Atraumatic extraction, socket grafting/ridge preservation, implant placement and impression taking for the general dental practitioner

Dental implant and related treatments are becoming an increasingly popular treatment modality, allowing replacement of a missing tooth or teeth, or denture stabilisation.
This course will outline briefly the treatment modalities available with dental implants before allowing participants a practical introduction to a range of implant related treatments:
• Atraumatic tooth extraction and socket grafting/ridge preservation. Current evidence-based short presentation followed by hands on practical session allowing tooth extraction and socket grafting/ridge preservation on pig jaws.
• Implant placement, adjunctive socket grafting and impression taking. Current evidence-based short presentation followed by hands on practical session, allowing delegates to carry out implant placement in a fresh extraction socket, socket grafting and impression taking on pig jaws using DENTSPLY products and the Astra EV implant system.

The course is suited to general dental practitioners who wish to develop an appreciation of some of the current concepts in implant dentistry together with a practical appreciation of what these involve.
